Approval Process

The development of a new building in the City of Davis follows a path that begins with the applicant forming a concept and then submitting an application to the City. Then, community outreach begins in earnest to discuss project details. As soon as key studies and reports detailing the impacts of the proposed project are completed, the merits of the project are then considered in publicly noticed City Commission meetings. The final step in the process is consideration by the City Council. The project is often refined, for many different reasons, during this process.

*In the next few weeks, a Public Outreach Report will be released that details every effort made since Fall 2014 to reach out to our community about the proposal.
